Are weed barriers worth it ?

How to deal with the tenacious weeds is the biggest headache for fruit, tea and other growers.

The cost of weeding is too high. All the tea fruits in the park are ecological, so herbicides cannot be used, and only manual weeding can be used. However, the cost of manual weeding is very high. The fruit garden needs to be weeded manually more than 4 times a year, and the weeding cost of one hectare of the manor is about 15000 dollars per year. The service life of woven floor cloth is 5-10 years. If it is calculated as 5 years, it will cost at least US $400 per hectare for ordinary orchards using herbicides, and more than US $30000 per hectare over the next 5 years. The cost of manual weeding will be even higher. The minimum cost for five years is US $60000 per hectare. The Weed Control Landscape Fabric will cost US $15000 per hectare in the first year. After that, it can no longer be used. The woven floor cloth can be reused.

This kind of  weed barriers is a kind of cloth like material, which is made of UV resistant polypropylene material and woven by drawing. Polypropylene material is internationally recognized as a recyclable environmental protection material and is widely used at home and abroad.

Because the weed barriers for landscaping can prevent the direct sunlight on the ground, the plants cannot conduct photosynthesis. At the same time, its solid structure can prevent weeds from passing through, thus ensuring the inhibition of weed growth. After laying woven ground cloth, the ground temperature and root activity can be significantly improved every spring, especially for low rootstock fruit trees and tea trees with shallow roots.

The weed barriers for gardens is made of PP flat silk. There are small pores at the intersection of warp and weft, which has certain water permeability and air permeability. When the rainfall in the orchard and tea garden is heavy, the excessive water can produce runoff, maintain soil nutrients, and prevent waterlogging of roots.
